It's normal science that the piece of cloth flows in the direction where the flow of air is heavy. But Puri Jagannath Temple is an exception. Yes, the flag on the top of the temple flows in the opposite direction and even science has no answer to this.
Assigned people climb this 214 feet temple with bare hands, and it is a tradition. Even professional climbers envy people who climb the temple every day to change the flag. This ritual has been followed since the temple is built. The adventurous part of this practice is that the climbing is done with bare hands and without any protective gear.
There is also a heavy Sudarshan Chakra placed on the top of the dome. The Sudarshan Chakra is made up of heavy and hard metal which obviously weighs a tonne. Now the question is, if it is that heavy, how was it placed on the top of the temple at the time when there was no machinery?
Also, another fact about around this chakra is that no matter from which direction we look, it looks like a chakra from all directions.
The temple is said to have no shadow. Since the sun shines brightly every day, it is really difficult to believe that the temple has no shadow. Be it any time of the day, the Jagannath Temple is said to have no shadow.
You will be amazed to know that the temple earns more than 10 lakh rupees every day from the Maha Prasad that is made in the kitchen.
There are hundreds of cooks who are willing to cook food for hundreds of devotees. Now, it is either the efficiency of the cooks or God's blessing that none of the food from the kitchen goes in vain.
At the temple, seven pots are placed one above the other and food is cooked on firewood. In this manner, food in the topmost pot gets cooked first and the rest later.
